Deep below the ocean waves the Greenland shark hides. A monstrous monarch of the sea which can reach an age of over 500 years. On the surface two men, sitting in a little boat, plan to catch it. But in reality, who is the hunter and who is the prey?

Experience the Norwegian play Havboka on the movie screen. A tribute to the ocean’s mysteryand the universe’s existential questions.

Havboka has harvested much acclaim as both a book and a play. First came the novel, by Norwegian author Morten A. Strøknes, which became an immediate bestseller and subsequently translated into 30 different languages. After the huge success of the book, the Norwegian National Theatre, in collaboration with Riksteatret, reworked the novel into a play. The show gathered much acclaim and was shown in all major Norwegian theatres. Both the novel and the play has received many awards.

Now you have the chance to experience the play on the movie screen. When the Corona pandemic hit Norway, the play was recorded in Hollywood-movie quality, so it could be viewed in movie theatres as well. We are therefore excited to announce that Havboka will be shown in the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands.

Havboka has been reworked as a play by Ole Anders Tandberg based on the novel by Morten A. Strøknes. The play is produced by Applaus Scene in collaboration with Riksteatret.
Actor: Jan Sælid
