The school in Nólsoy

The school in Nólsoy was built in 1970. In recent years, extensions have been added, insulation has been improved, and a ventilation system has been installed.

In addition to a teachers’ lounge and an office, the school has two regular classrooms, woodworking room, kitchen, music room, and as a library and a special-purpose room, which is also used for preschool There is also a gymnasium, and a large schoolyard.

The facilities are well-suited for individuals with mobility impairments. The doors are electronically controlled, and the accessible restroom is equipped with a shower. If a wheelchair user enters from the upper entrance, there are no thresholds preventing access to the different rooms in the school. However, the woodworking room is unfortunately not designed for wheelchair accessibility.

In the 2019/2020 school year, 13 students attended Nólsoy School from preschool to 7th grade. The students are divided into three groups: preschool, the younger group (grades 1–3), and the older group (grades 4–7).

There are three teachers at the school.
