Experience Nólsoy

Experience Nólsoy

Discover Nólsoy’s unique blend of nature, history, and local culture.

Home to one of the world’s largest colonies of storm petrels and the iconic puffin, the island is a paradise for birdwatchers.

Explore its rich heritage through adventurer Ove Joensen’s legacy, Jens-Kjeld Jensen’s nature studies, and traditional crafts at Heimavirkið and Vevstovan.

Whether hiking, wildlife spotting, or immersing yourself in island life, Nólsoy offers an unforgettable experience.

Wheelbarrow

In many cities, you can borrow a bicycle, but in Nólsoy, you can borrow a wheelbarrow.

Wheelbarrows don’t pollute, they don’t make noise – and they’re just cozier.

Four wheelbarrows can be found at Klivurnar, and three are located right by the grocery store.

Visitors are welcome to borrow a wheelbarrow to transport their luggage.

The wheelbarrows are beautiful and colorful, so they are not meant for carrying sand or similar materials.

We assume that people will return them to their place after use.
