The National Hospital of the Faroe Islands is the main hospital in the Faroe Islands and is one of the largest workplaces in the country. Its vision is to provide Faroese citizens with quality healthcare across an increasing number of areas within the Faroe Islands and, when this is not possible, to ensure treatment abroad through strong partnerships with foreign hospitals.
The core tasks of the National Hospital are diagnosis, treatment, care, and rehabilitation. The hospital also maintains an emergency preparedness system available around the clock.
The primary goal of the National Hospital, together with the Hospital Services, is to deliver high-quality healthcare that spans from conception to life’s end, grounded in knowledge and a commitment to service. This knowledge encompasses professional expertise, skills, and development, technology in its broadest sense, and a culture that is open and inclusive. Service-mindedness is an experience of being at the center, an experience of quality service, and an experience of thoroughness.
